Strange eclipse

There was a total eclipse of the sun in 1932, and a newsreel company sent two expeditions to South America to get authentic pictures of it. Bad weather prevented their getting any shots worth exhibiting. The company had to have a picture, however, and put the problem to its technical expert. "I'll manufacture a picture of an eclipse for you right in my laboratory," he promised, and he was as good as his word. There was one flaw. When the picture was run off, the word "Mazda" appeared on the face of the sun.

Sensational trial

The most sensational trial of the year was in progress in Iceland country of the midnight sun. The prosecuting attorney shook a bony finger in the face of the accused and thundered, "I ask you again, sir: where were you on the night of November 8 to March 16?"

The Gabors

Mrs. Gabor and her three talented and beautiful daughters, Eva, Zsa Zsa and Magda, attract publicitiy and men with equal facility. Recently one gentleman caller expressed a need for food to help him cope with the girls.
"Raid the icebox," suggested Mama Gabor. "It's always full of good things to eat." The visitor found that the entire contents of the icebox consisted of two dozen orchids and a salami.
